Uno sguardo sulla vita intorno al luogo del Sacro, la vita quotidiana che si muove fuori dal tempio. La “porta” del tempio è l’accesso ad un tempo altro, il varco attraverso il quale avviene la trasformazione dell’azione.

In viaggio attraverso le strade di New Delhi. Registro immagini del luogo, quasi a strapparle al tempo e al movimento. La videocamera cattura frammenti di vita urbana, figure di donne e uomini, suoni e colori, e con sé, anche i paradossi dell’India.

Del ritmo frenetico della città, degli sguardi, degli odori, restano veloci immagini sovrapposte alle immagini e squarci della vita che si muove al di fuori del Tempio.

Nei tanti templi indiani non è consentito fare riprese e, a volte, neanche entrare ma se la videocamera può catturare le immagini solo dove è “concesso”, l’occhio umano può percepire oltre i limiti del consentito. E’ l’occhio di chi guarda oltre l’immagine, che può costruire, tra i frammenti di una storia, tra immagini mancanti, un’altra storia ed un’altra ancora.

 

Travelling through New Delhi streets. I record the place's images, as to wring them from time and space. The camera catches the urban life's fragments, women and men, sounds, colours and India's paradoxes. Fast images that overlap each other remain from the frenzied city's rhythm, from glances, from smells, excerpts of life that moves outside the sacred temple. That temple, those many temples, where filming is not allowed and where sometimes you can enter only if you profess the same faith.

If the camera can catches images just where it is allowed, the human eye can see beyond what is permitted. It is the eye of who looks beyond the image that can make up, between the fragments of a story, another story

and another one.
